DSTAR Meet 23rd August 2014

We had a bit of a social get together 23/8/14 - at the Lighthouse Pub in Capel, Nr Folkestone. We welcomed DD4KO and his wife, who we speak to on the repeater very regular.

Hi all,

Just to let you know the daily net still takes place from around 5pm on GB7FK B. For a few years it was just 2 of us on the net, but I am happy to report that we have quite a crowd now! you are all welcome to join in, either via RF, or dongle / dvap etc. We unlink from the reflectors during this net.

Hi all,

After a few issues with GB7FK B over the last few months I hope finally we have it sorted.

A new antenna is installed, along with some Heliax feeder. A Pre-amp is installed on RX, nad so far its working very well indeed.

Antennas and things!

Hi All, well the repeater is now moved in the building to its new location. The antenna has also changed. on 2m the coverage seems to be very good, 70cms is not so good. 70cms has never worked that well at its present location, 2m from there provides very good mobile coverage. reports welcome as always, especailly on 2m. 73 Matt

Power and Move

Hi all,

There maybe some power outages to the repeater over the next week or so, this is due to a faulty boiler on site!
The repeater has battery backup, and so does the gateway server, but the servers power only lasts for around 40mins.

The repeater will also be moving to a different room over the next couple of months. more info soon. Its likely to be off air for a few hours.
